Norah Jones will receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award at the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala in Los Angeles. The Recording Academy and Grammy Museum announced the honor this week, placing Jones at the center of an event built around music with lasting cultural value.
The gala is scheduled for May 8 at The Beverly Hilton. Organizers said Jones will also perform during the evening, which will celebrate the newest class of Grammy Hall of Fame recordings. Warner Records is also being recognized as this year’s label honoree.
The award is named for Ray Charles and is meant for an artist whose work has reached across genres and generations. Jones fits that description through a career shaped by songwriting, piano work, and a style that has moved easily between jazz, pop, folk, and soul.
This year’s Hall of Fame class includes 14 inducted recordings, with 11 albums and three songs selected for their historical or artistic significance. The event brings those recordings together with one current artist whose influence continues to grow.
